Felicity Pickering is an Australian screenwriter, director and producer based in Los Angeles.
After graduating high-school she completed a BA of Communication at UTS, majoring in Writing and Cultural studies. It was here that she honed her craft as a playwright; putting on plays with the UTS Backstage Theatre and Film Society.
During her university years Felicity began working with the Australian Theatre for Young People. First capturing their attention through the Fresh Ink Program, Felicity went on to be mentored through many of their competitive initiatives.
Felicity was selected to attend the Australian Theatre for Young People's National Studio, a talent incubator in regional Australia. The monologue she wrote on this program, FACON, was then performed in multi-playwright production BITE ME and published by Currency Press.
The BITE ME anthology was sold to high-schools all over Australia, and Felicity continues to be contacted by students performing FACON for their Drama final project. In 2015, FACON was made into a short film by Vigilante Media. Felicity adapted the monologue and came on as the producer.
Intrigued by the possibilities of film, Felicity began a Masters of Media Arts and Production at University of Technology, Sydney in 2014. It was here that she met filmmaker John Scarpias and in the summer of 2014 Felicity produced his indie feature film C.A.M.
Felicity completed her directing debut, the feminist comedy TONI FITZGERALD'S CULT FOLLOWING, in 2019. It has screened at 7 film festivals across the world, including Detroit Shetown Women's Film Festival, Melbourne Women in Film Festival and GRRL HAUS CINEMA.
In 2017 Felicity moved to Los Angeles, where she works in film and has several projects in pre-production.
